Allan MacDoanld's thoughts on a disappointing night south of the Border

Last night was very much one to forget. Whilst it was far from ideal preparation getting a squad together straight from work and onto a bus for a 90 minute journey, we can’t use that as an excuse for what was undoubtedly our poorest performance of the season. Add in a red card for Ben Brown for a second bookable offence ten minutes before half time and our task was made even tougher.

We just didn’t get any momentum in the match at all and barring a few half chances we didn’t create nearly enough. Robbie Renwick was a handful for Tweedmouth throughout but that aside, our positive moments were few and far between.

We can’t be anything but disappointed in the manner of the goals we conceded though. For all four, we were architects of our own downfall and that’s probably the most frustrating aspect of the night

The lads know themselves that they didn’t match their own standards so we need to quickly draw a line under it and look towards another tough cup tie in Fife at the weekend
