Anthony's thoughts on a convincing derby win

Coming into the derby off two terrible performances and results was far from ideal and given some recent signs of improvement from Vale, I’m pretty sure everyone had a home win on the cards.

However, we’ve worked hard on the training ground through the week to try to iron out some of the needless errors which have been costing us, We’ve tried to strip things back to the basics for the lads and with a couple of tweaks here and there, we looked so much more comfortable in and out of possession.

We really couldn't have asked for any more from the lads. We got 100% effort and application for the full 90 minutes from the whole squad, got early goals which helped us settle and restricted Vale to very little in the way of opportunities throughout the whole ninety minutes.  

We know stringing just two or three results together can see us move away from the bottom three and this win brings us back towards a pack of team from around 9th place so hopefully we can kick on from here and get ourselves into a more comfortable position.
