Disappointment in defeat for Paul

Today’s game was a bit dull in terms of quality and by our own standards, we sadly never really got going at all. In the end it was a poor result in what was overall a disappointing performance.

The game in general was played in a way that if it finished 0-0 you wouldn’t have been surprised. Neither team mustered up anything worthy of being match winning or produced anything special to warrant taking the three points. However, Shippy get two goals from two corners using their marginal height difference. They used that to their advantage well and we always knew that this was potentially a threat at any stage of the game from set pieces.

For anyone watching, we probably had most of the ball but today unfortunately created absolutely nothing in terms of real threat going forward.

The boys seemed to be just a yard or two off it today but it’s not a disaster in terms of defeat. I felt it was one of those days where all the boys tried and put the effort in and controlled 70% of the game but we really could’ve been there all night and not produced anything.

We regroup at training on Tuesday and go again next week in the League Cup against Arniston Rangers.

Good luck to Shippy for the remainder of the season.
