Experienced defender Paul Dickson extends his Rovers stay

Updated: Jan 27, 2023

Manager Ger Rossi was delighted with Dicko's commitment as he said 'We are absolutely delighted that Paul has agreed to extend his deal for another season at Whitestone Park. “Dicko” is a lad that I’ve known for a number of years and when we were taking on this project I knew he’d be someone that would absolutely get our plans and the direction we wanted to go in. Sharing a changing room with him at Spartans, It was always easy to see his talent however it also allowed me to tap into his character, which he has in abundance. He’s brilliant for the changing room and adds a real calming influence on the park. Dicko has probably worked as hard as anyone to get himself to the position he’s at right now. So we are only too pleased that he’s agreed to stay for another year.'

Dicko added 'I’m just glad to be signing again. It’s been a good first half of the season and myself and the boys believe there is a lot more to come from the group. We should be a lot higher up the table in terms of performances and once it all clicks we feel we will be well in amongst the top half teams. Also on a personal note, I’m glad to be back playing and helping as I’ve not had a full season in about 5 years. It’s given me a little bit of love back for the game and I’m looking forward to more progress with the team and myself for the remainder of the season and into next. '
