Paul Dickson's thoughts on his first game in charge

After a shaky opening 10 minutes, the boys to a man delivered exactly what have asked of them this last week. Going into the game, we have worked on something a little bit different from normal and I think that was reflected in today’s bounce back performance.

Their goal came from us switching off and it’s a cheap and disappointing goal to lose but the way the lads responded was terrific and our goal comes from brilliant quick play then a foul leads to Macca (Luke MacLean) doing what strikers do best, sniffing out an opportunity and pulling us level.

As the manager going forward, for now I put all my trust into the boys on the pitch and in turn I want them to trust in each other on it and buy into the methods we put across today. If we all continue to implement these little things, we are only going to get better.

Tweedmouth Rangers are a team in form with plenty momentum I felt like we more than matched them and dominated spells of the game, particularly in the second half and I feel we could have potentially won it. That said, they could’ve sneaked it right at the end as well and if it wasn’t for Coatsy (Ross Coats) making an incredible double save we could have left with nothing to show for a good afternoon’s work.

There were plenty positives this afternoon though and I’m convinced there is more to come from the group.

Best of luck to Tweedmouth Rangers for the rest of the season.
