Another win and another three points on the board on Saturday but it came in what was a fairly sluggish performance from ourselves. If we’re being honest, we probably didn’t deserve the win but that’s football and a sign of a good team when things aren’t going as well as they usually do, you soak it up keep grinding away and we will always give ourself opportunities against any team. But fair play to Edinburgh United they were the better team on the day, particularly second half and if they had been like that all season they wouldn’t be where they are now.
Like the previous weekend, we go behind to a pretty soft goal from our perspective when we switch off after a free kick but then get back into the game with a well crafted team goal. We huffed and puffed a bit second half and had a couple of big let-offs but with both teams pushing for a late winner we got the break with a last minute penalty. Big Grant (Wilson) tucks it away for his second of the day and his 20th of the season which is a terrific return from him.
The season isn’t over yet though and we still have a job to do next Saturday. We want to end the season on a real high and as far up the table as possible and we have a great chance to have the highest points tally Rovers have had since the 2014-15 season.
It would also be good to see as many locals down as possible to support the boys as they’ve done well this season and hopefully made the town proud of the effort put in on and off the pitch.
