Paul's thoughts on another away point

Losing a late goal, we maybe let another good away win slip from our grasp but yet again there were more than enough encouraging signs in what was really a stalemate game. To a large extent, the match was ruined by the weather and wasn’t a great watch but another point on the road keeps our little unbeaten run going so we’ve no complaints.

Looking back at it, it’s a solid performance from the boys and one where we never really looked like conceding from open play. The Edinburgh College lads will probably feel exactly the same.

Despite all that, we got ourselves ahead late in the second half from a set play and looked like we were on course for another three points but the wind had a factor to play in that when we lost a bit of a fluke goal at the other end to even things up.

In the dying stages, we were denied what looked like a stonewall penalty for a handball when what looked like there defender made a cracking save from a Ross Lamb shot. We also had a shout for another in the first half for a foul on Kivi (Kyle Kivlichan) so we maybe didn’t quite get the breaks today either.

Apart from that, there was nothing much in the game. We controlled everything they put at us, particularly second half and it shows you our character when we are going home disappointed at a draw against a top half side away from home.

As always, we’ll get the lads in for some good sessions this week and all being well the weather will be kind and we can get going at Whitestone Park next Saturday with Edinburgh South our visitors.
