Paul's thoughts on another narrow defeat

Yesterday was yet another game we deserved more from if we were just a bit more street wise and clever. But it wasn’t to be!

We started the game really brightly and were by far the better team. We get an early lead with a well worked goal from Scott Inglis and were unlucky to see a long range lob from Ross (Lamb) come back off the post. Really, in the first 20 minutes we could’ve been two or three up and it would’ve been deserved. But we then shoot ourselves in the foot and a bizarre ten minutes of lapse of concentration sees us loose another two bad goals.

The second half was similar. We have a more than strong shout for a penalty of our own but we have a ten minute bad spell and end up 3-1 down to a second penalty. After that we got back into the swing of things and played more like ourselves for the remainder of the game and probably deserved at least a draw.

But in football if you don’t take your chances and give sloppy goals away it’s always going to be a tough ask to get the three points whether you feel the performance deserves it or not.

We will keep at it on the training ground though, work to cut out the needless errors and I’m confident the three points will come soon enough.
