Paul's thoughts on another strong away performance

The lads put in another great team performance today on what was a very tricky pitch. It was hard for both teams but I felt particularly in the first half that we probably squandered a few decent chances. That, along with some good goalkeeping for the Lily number 1 and a few contentious offside calls, meant we probably could have been a lot more comfortable than 2-1 win. Nevertheless, it’s another good three points on the road for this group and another three that were very well earned.

We’ve picked up where we left off last midweek against Ormiston and I thought all the boys from the starting eleven through to the subs were first class. The attitude and application has been brilliant and the way we managed the game out is a credit to all the boys and their following instructions.

Once again, we’ve had to make a reshuffle due to a late call off. Bringing Benzo (Ben Brown) and Gregor (Lamb) into the centre of defence was a risk with both just returning from injury but they, along with the whole defence and goalkeeper were solid. It wasn't a surface for easy on the eye football but midfield and up front, the lads have worked their socks off for each other and Luke (MacLean) and Grado (Grant Wilson) have taken their goals extremely well.

We’ve now three games left of the season and we’re getting back to work through the week to get ourselves in shape for what we hope is a positive run in to end the season on a high.
