Probably on the scale of things, it was a deserved 3-1 win this afternoon. Even though we didn’t play very well, we still created a lot of chances and managed to get three goals and on another day we could’ve had 3 or 4 more. When we went behind in the first half, we seemed to press the panic button and were making way too many wrong decisions. A few changes at half time settled things down and within 30 seconds we were level with a great team goal finished off by Robbie (Renwick). We huffed and puffed a bit after that but got our noses in front with another great free kick form Ross (Lamb) and he took a gamble into injury time and got his rewards with a second in forcing their ‘keeper into a mistake.
Nevertheless, we are through to the next round and that’s all that matters at the end of the day in cup football.
The boys need to get up to speed and do it quickly though as I feel we are still a bit behind other teams fitness wise. The signs are there of a good football team but some lads need to put a bit more effort in and conduct themselves properly on the park and at training as the games are coming thick and fast and we need this whole squad to be together and up for the challenge of a long season.
All the best to Lochgelly Albert, we wish Paul and the staff all the best this year and we will hopefully cross paths again at some point.
