Paul's thoughts on emphatic away win

I felt we thoroughly deserved our victory yet again yesterday. To a man, every single player took on board the game plan and was outstanding. I’m really hoping this feeling of winning becomes a habit for the boys and they don’t get bored of it; what a difference it makes to us all. Winning and losing can both become habits but the atmosphere in the changing room after yesterday’s win shows how much the lads enjoy the former. Bear in mind we went into this match with one fit substitute and a couple of others really just to make up some numbers if we were forced into changes. Unfortunately, Stewart Robertson has had to come off at half time with a knee injury so we’ve had to bring Naz (McDonald) on a bit earlier than maybe we’d planned as he’s just coming back from injury himself. Taking all that into account, it amounts to a fantastic afternoon’s work.

We played against a strong Uni team but for the first 35 minutes we blew them away and scored three excellent goals. I asked the boys to get in their face and press them into mistakes and that’s exactly what we’ve done and outplayed them with the ball as well.

Of course it was disappointing to concede one just before half time as Stirling came back into it a bit but we’ve regrouped and seen the game out in a very competitive second half. I changed the shape as the Uni were coming into game a bit which we knew they would but the boys delivered again with the second half and controlled it apart from one wonder save from our goalkeeper Jordan Moffat.

The last two games show just what we can be capable of it’s great to see the boys enjoying it. These results should certainly boost confidence levels and they also put a good bit of distance between ourselves and the wrong end of the table. We can now approach these last seven league matches in the knowledge we can compete with anyone on our day.
