Paul's thoughts on opening day defeat

It was a tough one to take today. Being 2-0 up at home and then conceding goals like we did then you don’t deserve to win football matches and that’s the reality of it.

We feel we had to work harder for our goals than College did for theirs and that’s a disappointment. Over the piece, there was really nothing much between the sides apart from the poor goals we gifted.

We took our two goals well to get a good early foothold and probably should’ve had another couple. But that’s football and it’s fine margins in games like today that make the difference.

It shows that we aren’t quite good enough to be able to be off on our standards and still expect to take something from these games. It’s early days though, the first game of the season behind us and we will come back Tuesday, regroup and work hard again on the training pitch and go again in the cup next Saturday.
